U.S. Beats Out France and Italy for Long-Distance Love on Valentine's Day, JAJAH Calling Service Ranks 99 Countries by Romance -- and Offers 2008 Callers a Chance to Win a Trip to Paris

Monday, February 11. 2008
, a leading global communications company and award-winning provider of affordable Internet-enabled local and international calling services, today released its 2007 annual report on Valentine's Day call volumes by country. U.S. lovers called 30% more -- both in frequency and in duration of calls -- than those in Germany, the next most-calling country. Long-distance lovers in Italy and France earned these traditionally romantic countries ranks of only 8th and 10th respectively.

The Center for the Study of Long Distance Relationships found that roughly seven million couples in the U.S. consider themselves to be involved in long-distance relationships (LDRs). Among those involved, telephone calls occur as often as once a day, with the average being at least every 2.7 days, and last an average of 30 minutes. Another study indicated that almost 50 percent spent more than 10 hours per week on the telephone and emailing with their loved ones. Telephone costs for some long-distance couples can exceed a hundred dollars per month.

While calling may be costly, it's critical to the health of romantic long-distance relationships. According to the University of California at Santa Barbara's SexInfo site, couples should make telephone "dates" and respect them just as much as any physical date.

"Voice communication enhances any relationship, but especially long-distance ones -- whether two people are across a city or across continents," said Rebecca Weeks, Director of Business Development at Real Girls Media and consultant to and Social Fabric Corporation. "Fortunately, people today have convenient, inexpensive options for staying connected. JAJAH's easy to use calling service is more affordable and practical than typical long-distance services."

"Our mission is to save our users as much money as possible on calls they need and want to make," said Trevor Healy, CEO at . "And this year we decided to help our users celebrate the day. Our contest will give one of those long-distance pairs a chance to be together -- if only for a weekend -- in Paris, the City of Love."

Any new or existing JAJAH customers who make calls on Valentine's Day and the day before (from Feb 13 11:59 PM GMT through Feb 14 11:59 PM GMT) are automatically entered in the drawing to win the prize. JAJAH will award two airlines tickets from anywhere in the world to Paris, up to a value of $2500 USD.

"Valentine's Day is just one of the peak calling days we report on," said Mr. Healy. "We track use of our systems carefully so that we can be always ahead of the curve in our technology. That's the way we can continually deliver superior service."

Using JAJAH Direct, you can make global calls from any landline or cell phone simply by dialing a local number, saving up to 98% versus traditional long distance calling rates. To learn more about the contest visit , or to sign up for JAJAH Direct, visit

Internet Telephony, Minus Internet: JAJAH Eliminates Need for Computer to Make Internet Calls

Monday, November 19. 2007
Talk Global, Dial Local - JAJAH Direct brings Internet calls to any phone, mobile or landline, anywhere.

Mountain View, CA -- November 19, 2007 -- JAJAH, the world's most innovative phone company, launches JAJAH Direct, a next generation telephone service designed to bring free or low-rate International calls to any phone.

Taking Internet access away from Internet telephony is a revolutionary step: dropping the need to be online allows everyone who owns a phone - regardless of make or model - to enjoy international calls for free, or at local rates. "With the introduction of JAJAH Direct we eliminate complicated VoIP solutions and archaic offline pre paid calling cards single-handedly." says JAJAH co-founder Roman Scharf. "Over-complicated and overpriced solutions are now old school! The 21st century of telecommunication knows no boundaries."

How JAJAH Direct works: Anyone interested in making International and long-distance calls dials a local JAJAH access number, or visits www.jajahdirect.com to sign-up; then receives one local number for every friend, family member or business associate they want to call internationally. This number can be stored in a phone or address book like any other contact number. Then, calls are made to the contact's newly assigned local number for free or at reduced JAJAH Internet calling rates.

JAJAH Direct calls can be made at anytime to any one of 122 countries worldwide, providing the savings of an Internet call and the convenience of any nearby telephone.

Never type an endless list of numbers, use a calling card, or enter a PIN Code again - use JAJAH Direct with no hassle and no hidden calling card charges. Users receive the same quality as a normal phone call. So what is the difference between JAJAH and making a normal call? Nothing, except dramatic cost savings. JAJAH Direct users will make International calls at substantially lower rates than those of traditional International calling plans.

JAJAH Direct reaffirms JAJAH's mission to transform the way the world makes global long distance calls by making VOIP accessible from any phone. Daniel Mattes, JAJAH co-founder, summarizes the benefits of JAJAH Direct "High costs? Removed. Downloads? History. Headsets? Gone. Computer-tied? No more. Privacy concern? Solved. Technical difficulties? These are all in the past. JAJAH Direct smashes barriers to global communication."

The partnership combines the respective strengths of the two companies and promises consumers the most innovative, relevant and reliable products, at the lowest possible costs, both now and for years to come. The agreement also delivers significant advantages to both companies as they expand voice and text messaging services for consumers, further bridge the web and the phone, and monetize a variety of services in the media channel.

“The goal of this partnership is to create several natural synergies for both JAJAH and Jangl, and has the potential to strengthen both companies’ positions going forward,” said Rebecca Swensen, Research Analyst, VoIP Services for IDC, Inc. “Anytime two companies collaborate at an integral level – on product development, marketing and more – additional opportunities invariably arise. This is one of the first major collaborations we’ve seen in the ‘Voice 2.0’ market and, to the extent that both companies execute well, this could have some very interesting ramifications for others in this space, as well.”

Today’s news comes as both companies work on significant new initiatives. As JAJAH increasingly becomes the industry’s platform of choice worldwide, Jangl is developing services for several new partners, as well as Google’s OpenSocial. Both companies expect to make more detailed statements soon.

Under the terms of the agreement, Jangl and JAJAH will collaborate on strategic development and emerging products, which will be announced as they become available. More immediately:

- Jangl will leverage JAJAH’s telephony infrastructure to deliver phone services in 122 countries, further speeding Jangl’s growth as it continues to forge partnerships with top online personals and social networking communities, where it already powers in-context calling capabilities in more than 40 million online profiles.

- Jangl and JAJAH will collaborate in serving voice advertising for mobile and landline calls. Jangl will become a publisher and begin to further monetize its traffic with audio advertising. JAJAH will supply its in-call advertising appliance to overlay audio advertising on Jangl calls;

“More and more, JAJAH is becoming the platform of choice, and we are delighted to work with Jangl,” said Trevor Healy, JAJAH CEO. “It shows the great leaps we have made since opening our platform. Thanks to Jangl’s position within the online community and JAJAH’s new advertising services, both companies significantly expand our advertising capabilities and monetization potential.”

“Jangl has always been about bridging the phone and the web,” said Cerda. “By giving people the same level of control with their phones, as they have with IM and email, we’re proving out our strategy. By contrast, JAJAH has excelled at providing low-priced, high-quality international phone calling, and they’ve established a stellar back end operation along the way. Our partnership is about leveraging our complements and strengths, which will manifest in new initiatives and products in the very near future.”

The partnership between Jangl and JAJAH underscores the complementary strengths of both companies, as well as their product and market differences.

Jangl’s voice services bridge the web and phone, and it distributes those services in social networks and online personals communities as it leverages the immense penetration and overlap of mobile devices, social networking and personal computers. Jangl now powers calling capability in more than 40 million online profiles, and has been generating revenue via partnerships and licensing for nearly a year. Jangl expects to announce significant news distribution partnerships in coming weeks.
